During the Paryushan Parva, members of the Jain community should worship and follow uttam kshama, mardav, aarjav, truth, shauch, self control, penance, sacrifice, akirchan and uttam Brahmacharya, observe fast and follow other rituals to the best of their ability and financial status, said renowned Jain saint, Acharya Panchkalyanak Sagar while addressing a gathering of devotees on the occasion of Parvaraj Paryushan Parva at Jain temple, Zero road on Sunday.
Acharya said the parva is considered ideal for inner self cleansing and preaches forgiveness to all on the first day and on the second day it preaches safeguarding self rights. According to Jain texts, Ajarva means one who is devoid of treachery and cheating while truth should be adopted as an important principle in everyday life, shauch means maintaining inner purity and sanyam means restraint and Brahmacharya helps one in controlling the physical desires.
He said that by performing 'tap' one is able to control his inner instincts and desires and it has been categorised with the religion. Earlier, a large number of devotees visited the local Jain temples to perform puja and joined their community members in offering community prayers at Jain temple on Zero road held under the supervision of Pandit Uday Chandra and Muni Aarjav Sagar informed the convenor, Rajesh Kumar Jain.
